City to honor late Ron Edinger

The city of Coeur d’Alene is renaming City Hall Conference Room No. 6 the Ron Edinger Conference Room, honoring the late Ron Edinger. 

Edinger was elected to the City Council in 1967 and to the office of mayor in 1974, serving the city for decades.  

“As a long-time city council member and former mayor, Ron Edinger embodied the traditional values of our city. Coeur d’Alene thrived for decades as a blue-collar town, and Ron consistently represented the common citizen on Council,” Mayor Dan Gookin said in a press release. “With this dedication, it’s my hope that we honor his memory and his legacy. Ron served with heart, humility, and unwavering dedication to the people of Coeur d’Alene.” 

Edinger passed away in November 2021. He was 85.

The city will hold an unveiling ceremony in the Ron Edinger Conference Room at City Hall on Wednesday at 5:15 p.m. The public is welcome.
