Barbara Ann (Raan) McMillan, 78, passed away Jan. 10, 2026, peacefully at her home in Troy, Montana.
She was born Sept. 12, 1947, to Martin and Margaret Raan in Stanley, North Dakota. Barbara met Roy Morris McMillan and on Feb. 28, 1965 they were married in Troy.
Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a superior gardener with the heart of a teacher sharing her knowledge with joy. She had a deep interest in natural healing and leading her to creating a delicious almond flour cookie recipe. Many agree that was the best chocolate chip cookie they have ever eaten.
Barbara is survived by her son Dale McMillan (Libby); daughter Rita McMillan (Troy); brothers Randy Raan, Don Raan and Dean Raan; sisters Mary Shockley and Rose Lockman; grandchildren Abby McMillan, Kimberly Fultz and Max McMillan; great-grandchildren Kaiden Fultz, James Norwak, Brody McMillan and Kellyann McMillan.
She is preceded in death by her husband Roy McMillan; parents Martin and Margaret Raan; and brothers Larry Raan and James Raan.
A memorial service will be held at noon Saturday, June 20, 2026, at the Raan Family Cemetery on Lake Creek Road, Troy, Montana. There will be a reception to follow after the service at the McMillan family property.
