Former Noxon athletes qualify for indoor championships

Former Noxon High School track and field athletes Cade VanVleet and Ricky Williams, both now competing for Montana Tech in Butte, have qualified for the 2026 NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships in Gainesville, Florida March 5-7.
A senior throwing specialist for the Orediggers, VanVleet has qualified for Nationals in the shot put and weight throw, while Williams, a freshman, will compete in his specialty the high jump in Gainesville.
VanVleet recently won the Frontier Conference Indoor championship in the shot put and Williams placed second in the high jump at the Frontier Conference Track & Field meet in Madison, South Dakota Feb. 21-22 to earn their spots at Nationals.

Lady Hawks feel the pain, enjoy gain in Mission

The Thompson Falls-Plains-St. Regis Blue Hawk girls opened season soccer plays with a couple great efforts on the pitch, playing well but falling 4-0 to Loyola Friday, and battling Polson to a 1-1 draw on their own field Saturday. Both matches were played in Polson.
