A county investigation has put an accused drug trafficker behind bars.
Jason Blair Huni, 51, is facing three counts of criminal distribution of dangerous drugs following three separate buys of prescription medication between late in 2025 and January 2026.
Huni’s bail was set at $50,000 by Lincoln County Justice Court judge Jay Sheffield following his initial appearance Feb. 17.
According to the affidavit of probable cause by deputy county attorney Jeff Zwang, county investigators received information about Huni allegedly selling dangerous drugs in the Libby area.
After getting a search warrant to record conversations with Huni during alleged and controlled drug buy operations, investigators monitored and recorded three transactions on Dec. 12 and Dec. 26, 2025, and Jan. 9, 2026.
During those alleged transactions, Huni allegedly sold hydrocodone and oxycodone pills to a confidential informant.
Huni’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 4. He remains locked up in the county detention center.
Conviction on each count may result in a 25-year term in the Montana State Prison and a $50,000 fine.
Huni was arrested in 2018 in Lincoln County on an outstanding warrant in Nevada City Superior Court. He's had collection bureaus file three cases against him in Lincoln County between 2019 and 2024.
According to a online post, dated June 17, 2011, on theunion.com, located in Grass Valley County, California, Jason Blair Huni was booked on suspicion of second-degree burglary and driving on a suspended license.
