The Whitefish Bulldogs closed out the regular season in dominant fashion last week, cruising past Polson 68-31 for their fourth win in a row in Northwest A girls basketball action.

Avery Orme scored 18 points to lead three Bulldogs in double figures, while Allie Shors and Reese Hudson provided a balanced offensive attack to power Whitefish to its 13th win of the season.

Whitefish (13-5 overall, 9-3 Northwest A) set the tone early, jumping out to a 16-8 lead after the first quarter. Hudson was particularly sharp in the opening frame, knocking down two of her three 3-pointers and scoring eight of her 13 total points in the period.

The Bulldogs widened the gap in the second quarter, outscoring the Lady Pirates 18-6 to take a commanding 34-14 halftime advantage. Whitefish continued to build on its lead in the third, putting up 22 points to effectively put the game out of reach.

Shors finished with 14 points and pulled down 12 rebounds to record a double-double. Hudson added 13 points, while Grace Inabnit chipped in six.

Polson (9-9, 5-7) was led by Ravea Tenas and Olivia Cottet, who scored seven points apiece.

With the win, Whitefish now turns its attention to the Western A Divisional tournament, set for March 5 in Hamilton. The Lady Dawgs are the number two seed from the Northwest and will face Corvallis for their first matchup Thursday. From Northwest A, Bigfork is the top seed, Columbia Falls third and Browning fourth. Southwest A also brings Dillon, Frenchtown and Hamilton.
