Climate Conversation Potluck – 5:30-7:30 p.m. March 11 at the Flathead Lakers Office on the west side of the Salish Building in Polson; a welcoming evening brings together food, connection, and focused conversation about climate issues on the second Wednesday of each month. This installment will explore native trout and climate change, with special guest Craig Barfoot, fisheries biologist with the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes. Book Talk with Chris La Tray – 1-3 p.m. March 14 at Ninepipes Museum, south of Ronan; the former Montana Poet Laureate presents his book, Becoming Little Shell, A Landless Indian’s Journey Home. La Tray will read from his book and talk about his remarkable journey through history, cultural justice and self-discovery. A Q &A follows, with refreshments in the gift shop gallery. Screening of “Water Keepers” – 6 p.m. March 18 at Ninepipes Lodge, south of Ronan; the next installment of the Conservation Speaker Series features a screening of the short documentary about the water technicians whose fieldwork led to the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes Water Compact, plus a hydrology panel featuring Seth Makepeace, George McLeod and Casey Ryan.
