Central Washington women's basketball
Sims, a 6-foot junior from Post Falls High, was named to the All-Great Northwest Athletic Conference second team, the school announced on Tuesday. Sims has earned all-conference recognition the previous two years, being named an honorable mention as a freshman and sophomore. Sims averaged 13.4 points (375 total) and 9.1 rebounds per game (256 total), with 10 double-doubles, with new career-highs in both points and rebounds. She scored 24 points at Cal Poly Humboldt on Nov. 15 and grabbed 18 rebounds against Montana State-Billings on Feb. 12. She's also added 2.5 assists per game, 20 blocks, 20 steals and shot 56.5% from the floor, which leads the conference. "Capri has had a great year and is vital to our team's success," Central Washington coach Randi Richardson said. "She is the player you can always rely on to empty her tank anytime she steps onto the floor, whether in practices or games. She has stepped up for our team this year in so many ways, including leadership. She has expanded her offensive skillset and versatility defensively, which has been huge for us. Capri is so deserving, and I'm so happy she has received this recognition."
Tori Younker
Corban women's basketball
Younker, a 5-foot-7 redshirt senior guard from Coeur d'Alene High, was named an honorable mention to the Cascade Collegiate Conference team after averaging just under 10 points per game and finishing with 80 assists. Younker started 31 games for the NAIA Warriors (26-5) of Salem, Ore., who beat Lewis-Clark State in the conference championship game to advance to the NAIA Tournament starting March 13-14.
Trinidie Nichols
Northwest Nazarene women's basketball
Nichols, a 5-foot-5 senior guard from Post Falls High, was named to the All-Great Northwest Athletic Conference first team after averaging 12.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.8 steals per game for the Division II Nighthawks (17-9) of Nampa.
Alyssa Randles
Providence women's wrestling
Randles, a junior from Coeur d'Alene High. won the 124-pound championship at the Cascade Conference Championships on Sunday, beating Kaylee Annis 7-1 in the championship match. Randles also defeated Vanessa Alvarado 10-0 in the quarterfinals and Myia Weiler 8-0 in the semifinals to advance. It is the third-straight year Randles has qualified for the NAIA Championships, and second straight conference title. The NAIA Championships are March 13-14 in Park City, Kan.
