Charles Lynden Fox, 76
Bonners Ferry Herald | UPDATED 11 hours, 55 minutes AGO
Charles L. Fox, known to most as Chuck, was born May 22,1949 in Martinez, California. Within days he was adopted by Walter and Velma Fox who raised him to love God and develop an honorable and responsible character.
Chuck grew up with a natural affinity and love for trucks, cars, and airplanes, which was accompanied by a God-given mechanical ability. In his teens he was rebuilding engines, then installing them back into the cars from which they came; primarily Volkswagens.
Chuck graduated from college in 1972, and his life became an interesting story of various work and business experiences: from working with heavy equipment and trucks, to working with his father in owning and acquiring nursing homes.
In the midst of this, in 1976, he married Cheryl and ended up with three daughters.
In 2009, he and Cheryl moved to Bonners Ferry, Idaho. After living through several winters, Chuck decided it was time to build a “snow machine.” Hence, the beginning of the Sno Trac business, which is building machines to this day in downtown Bonners Ferry.
After nearly two years of valiantly fighting a rare form of lymphoma, Chuck passed away on Feb. 18, 2026.
He is survived by his wife Cheryl of almost 50 years; his daughters, Heidi (Gabriel) and Lizzie (David); and grandchildren Dylan, Emilie, Kieran, and Calum. He was predeceased by his daughter, Allison; and his parents, Walter and Velma.
The family would like to thank Sunset Home and Auburn Crest Hospice for their wonderful and tireless care.
A memorial service is being planned for a later date. To leave a message or memory for the family go to bonnersferryfuneralhome.com.
