Bigfork uses hot shooting to end Libby’s season

A barrage of 3-pointers lifted Bigfork past Libby 64-27 in a Northwest A boys basketball play-in game on Thursday.

The Vikings (11-8) buried 10 shots from beyond the arc, including four from Treker Hickey, who finished with a game-high 16 points. Hickey connected on three 3-pointers in the opening quarter alone, helping Bigfork race out to a 21-5 lead after eight minutes.

Austin Savik and Tamret Savik each added 10 points for Bigfork, which extended its advantage with a 15-8 second quarter to take a 36-13 lead into halftime. The Vikings continued to build on their cushion in the second half, outscoring Libby 11-4 in the third and 17-10 in the fourth.

Libby (2-17) was led by Tristan Andersen, who scored 14 of the Loggers’ 27 points. Branseon Holzer added five.
