A husband and wife are facing murder charges after police said they sold drugs to a man who subsequently died from an overdose near Hayden.

A Kootenai County grand jury indicted Dustin J. House, 39, and Angel M. House, 30, on charges of drug-induced homicide, a felony, according to the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office.

The charges stem from Dec. 20, 2025, when police and medical personnel responded to a medical emergency in the 12000 block of North Brighton Court in Hayden.

First responders found an unconscious man at the scene and transported him to Kootenai Health, where he later died. The sheriff’s office launched an investigation into the death, which the Kootenai County Coroner’s Office determined was caused by an overdose.

Detectives allege that Dustin and Angel House sold the man methamphetamine before his death, according to the sheriff’s office.

After a grand jury indicted the couple, police obtained warrants for their arrest, with bail set at $1 million each.

Police arrested Dustin House in Post Falls on Thursday without incident, according to KCSO. Angel House was already in custody at the Kootenai County jail on a separate matter.

The pair remain in jail.
