Marilyn L. (Reasoner) Griffin White, 91, of Wallace, Idaho, passed away peacefully Feb. 27, 2026.

She was born Aug. 22, 1934, in Newport, Wash., to Stephen S. Reasoner and Emmalou M. Fish (Thomas). In 1942, she moved to Burke and graduated as Salutatorian from Wallace High School in 1952. She was the oldest of five daughters.

On Dec. 29, 1952, she married Dean Griffin, and together they had three sons: Scott, Dave, and Kelly. In 1983, she married Les “Howdy” White.

Marilyn’s life was anchored in her faith and her commitment to the Silver Valley community. A lifelong member of the United Methodist Church, she faithfully served the Wallace/Burke church for decades, giving her time, leadership, and steady presence to its ministries. Her faith guided her decisions and shaped her lifelong dedication to service.

In 1984, she began working for Frank Morbeck and later served as president of several mining companies, overseeing Morbeck properties and continuing her stewardship of the Morbeck estate. Through this work, she helped preserve and manage resources that supported and strengthened the local community for many years.

Marilyn will be remembered as smart and discerning, compassionate and selfless, with a quiet humor that surfaced at just the right moments. Her steady presence, strong faith, and genuine care for others shaped both her family and her community.

She is survived by her sons, Scott Griffin and Dave Griffin; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her sisters; and extended family members.

Services will be held in Wallace at 11 a.m. March 14, at Victory World Outreach (formerly the Methodist Church), 215 Pine St. A celebration of life will follow immediately at the Wallace Elks Lodge, 419 Cedar St. Marilyn’s family has asked that attendees wear colorful clothing in her memory.
