Sandra (Peck) Hayes-Rosco, 80

Sandra Lynne Hayes-Rosco peacefully passed away March 3, 2026, with family by her side. Born Sandra Lynne Peck on June 18, 1945, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to her parents, Mary Josephine Watters (Peck) and James Edward Peck, Sandra was one of five siblings: David, Nora, Tom, and Smokey. She loved traveling, and her favorite thing was spending time with her beloved family and friends.

Sandra was cherished by many, and she lived a wonderful, fulfilling life. She taught for 36 years in the Silver Valley, having a positive impact on those she worked with and the students who fondly remember her as “their favorite teacher.” She spent her first year teaching in the Kellogg School District from 1968-1969, and her remaining years teaching elementary school, math, and computer science in the Wallace School District until her retirement in 2004. Sandra spent 23 years volunteering for Hospice of North Idaho, making her their longest-standing volunteer. She loved the incredible care they provided for every patient and family. Additionally, she volunteered to help with the Coeur d’Alene Ironman marathons for many years. 

Sandra married her first husband, Bobby “Bob” Lee Hayes, on her birthday, June 18, 1966. Bob passed away July 21, 1997, from pancreatic cancer. She married her second husband, Frank Darrel Rosco, on March 23, 2013. Frank passed away May 12, 2014, due to health complications from exposure to Agent Orange during the Vietnam War.

A public visitation service will be held March 11, 2026, at Yates Funeral Chapel at 744 N. Fourth St. in Coeur d’Alene from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery at 2834 N. Spokane St. in Post Falls, Idaho, where Sandra will be laid to rest.
