HAMILTON — Butte Central and Frenchtown made it all-Southwest A boys consolation game with wins Saturday.
Cooper Michaud scored 24 points to lead Frenchtown past Browning 65-54 on Dale Berry Court; Ryan Peoples poured in 31 points in Butte Central’s 74-62 win over Columbia Falls at the Hamilton Middle School.
Frenchtown 65, Browning 54
Michaud and Hank Smith scored 26 points combined in the second half to lead Frenchtown.
Browning (12-9) led 28-25 at the break after converting four and-one finishes in the second period. Royce MadPlume led the Indians with 21 points, swishing two triples, and Reis Reevis contributed 15 points.
Michaud sparked a 17-9 surge in the third quarter, converting jumpers from inside and out the arc. Konnor Klimpel and Smith attacked the basket in the final period, causing Roy MadPlume and Reevis to foul out.
Smith finished with 19 points. Michaud hit four 3-pointers.

Peoples cooled off the Cats, who nearly made up a 42-28 halftime deficit in the third quarter.
The Wildcats trailed just 51-49 after Jett Pitts hit a 15-footer with under a minute left; Peoples drove for a layup just before the quarter buzzer to move the lead to 53-49.
Then Peoples sandwiched two 3-pointers around one from Josh Sutton and in the span of 75 seconds the gap was 62-49. Eventually the lead grew to 16.
Bjorn Pedersen hit four treys and scored 16 points after halftime, finishing with 20. Jory Hill added 12 points for the Wildcats (15-6).
