One dead, two injured in head-on collision on U.S. 93 Bypass

One person is dead following a motor vehicle collision on the U.S. 93 Bypass in Kalispell early Monday afternoon, authorities say.
Kalispell Police officers responded to the two-vehicle crash at about 12:20 p.m., March 9. One person was pronounced dead at the scene, and emergency responders transported two others to Logan Health Medical Center.
The head-on collision left debris scattered across the road. The section of the bypass near the Four Mile Drive overpass was reduced to one lane in each direction, according to Patrol Capt. Chad Fetveit.
Officials warned motorists to expect a large police presence in the hours after the fatal wreck. They encouraged drivers to avoid the area.
The crash is under investigation.
