MURRAY — The Bureau of Land Management has temporarily closed a portion of Tiger Gulch Road, which is impassable due to a washout caused by recent winter storms.

The closure is located in Township 49 North, Range 5 East, Section 6, about 0.1 mile south of the Kings Pass Road junction on the edge of the town of Murray. The closure is necessary to protect public safety and prevent additional natural resource damage. Significant reconstruction will be required before the route can be reopened. The road will remain closed until design work is complete and funding for repairs is secured.

Recent storms have also caused damage in other parts of the BLM Coeur d’Alene District. Staff members are assessing and repairing impacts at multiple sites.

For more information and updates on recreation site status, contact the Coeur d’Alene Field Office at 208-769-5000.

The BLM manages about 245 million acres of public land, primarily in 12 Western states, including Alaska. The agency also administers 700 million acres of subsurface mineral estate nationwide. Its mission is to sustain the health, diversity and productivity of America’s public lands for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations.
