A 28-year-old Arlee woman and a baby girl were killed in a head-on collision March 9 on U.S. 93.

Alcohol is suspected as a factor in the crash that happened at about 9:39 p.m. near Arlee at mile marker 21, according to a Montana Highway Patrol crash report.

The Arlee woman was driving a Nissan Altima south on U.S. 93 when she crossed the double yellow line and struck a northbound Chevrolet Silverado.

The woman and baby died at the crash scene. A Polan man driving the pickup sustained minor injuries and was transported to Providence St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula.

According to the report, the baby in the Nissan and the pickup driver were not wearing seat belts. Road conditions were dry.
