Brenda J. Crowell, 72

Brenda J. Crowell, 72, of Hungry Horse joyfully joined her Lord and Savior on Feb. 5, 2026.

She was born in Sidney, Montana on March 5, 1953, to Clarence A. Kohlman and Shirley J. (Weber) Kohlman.

Brenda lived in Fairbanks, Alaska, Drake, North Dakota and Thief River Falls, Minnesota. She graduated from high school in Minnesota and then from TRF Area Vo-Tech in practical nursing in 1972. She worked at various jobs in nursing around the Valley and retired in 2008. Her last two jobs were at The Montana Veteran’s Home and the Professional Center which she absolutely loved. 

She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, which was very important to her.

She had one child, Joel L. Haider, born in 1975, who was the "absolute joy of her life."

Her one saying was "I like my life here but I’m going to love where I’ll be going someday."

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Karen D. Joy, her ex-husband, Dennis J. Haider and husband, Rodger A. Crowell, her son, Joel L. Haider and various aunts, uncles and cousins. 

She is survived by a sister, Peggy A. Rosenbaum (husband, Todd and their children, Cory, Justin, Jason, Dustin, Carolyn and Mary) and Karen’s children, Tara and Travis. She is also survived by heart son, Dwight Beck and his family, Michelle and Hannah; best friend, Trudy Gallery and her beloved "fur babies," Cruiser and Tuffy (the boys). Brenda will be greatly missed and loved by all.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on March 21 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Columbia Falls with interment at Woodlawn Cemetery.
