The Sandpoint Future 6th Grade Boys basketball team won the Lilac City Showdown tournament — their seventh tournament win of the season — on March 7 in Spokane. Playing at The Warehouse Athletic Facility, the team defeated the Spokane Bulls (54-44), the Ritzville Mustangs (62-49) and the Spokane Nets (41-33) in the championship game to capture the team title. Up next, the boys will take a 37-5 record into the 13th Annual Washington Middle School Basketball Championships, set to be held March 20 through 22 at The Podium in Spokane.
