Sharon Ann Westerberg, beloved aunt, sister and friend, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 1, at the age of 66 in Pullman, Wash.

Sharon never met a stranger and had a true, genuine love of people. She had room in her enormous heart for everyone and frequently introduced herself as “Aunt Sharon.”

Sharon’s life was filled with family and friends, her faith and her hobbies. She helped to raise her beloved nieces and nephews and found time for them. Sharon found joy in cross-stitching, playing pinochle and spades, listening to classic rock and, most importantly, cheering on the Seahawks and Mariners.

Her faith was reflected in her lifelong membership in the Catholic Church, including at St. Thomas in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, where she served as a lector and youth group leader. She was a proud employee of both Washington State University and North Idaho College, and an alumna of NIC.

Sharon’s vivacious personality and independent spirit were appreciated by all who knew her. Her family and friends relished in her joyful laugh, infectious smile and wicked sense of humor. Sharon was an indomitable force of nature and will be missed.

Celebrations of life will be planned for early June in Pullman, Wash., and Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. In lieu of flowers, Sharon’s family asks that a donation be made in her name to a local food pantry. Corbeill Funeral Home of Pullman, Wash., has been entrusted with arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to www.corbeillfuneralhomes.com.
