Vegetables provide potassium, fiber, folate, Vitamin A and Vitamin C. Choose a variety of vegetables, which come in a variety of colors. You can find them fresh, frozen, canned, dried or in 100% vegetable juice.

Potassium helps control blood pressure. Fiber supports digestion and heart health. Folate (Vit B9) helps form red blood cells, supports tissue growth and helps cells work. Vitamin A is important for vision and a healthy immune system. Vitamin C aids in wound healing, skin health and iron absorption. Canned or frozen are just as good as fresh. Try to choose options with little or no added salt. Rinsing canned vegetables under cold water can significantly reduce sodium, according to myplate.gov.

AARP Smart Driving Course is on March 27 at the center from 1-5 p.m. Call 406-745-4462 to sign up or visit the center.
