Kent Gregory Butler, age 55 years old, of Fernan Lake Village, Idaho, was taken from the world too soon by a natural disaster Dec. 17, 2025.
Primarily a computer programmer and a musician specializing in both guitar and bass, Kent was a brilliant man of many other talents, including restoring cars, flying planes during his brief stint as a pilot, rock climbing, gourmet cooking and baking, sound engineering, wood and metal working, 3D printing, and inventing a plethora of cool and useful things.
He was the CEO of Testing Technologies and KB systems as well as the IT specialist for Workbridge Group, FCE 123, and local author Brooklyn Ann.
Along with his many talents and busy work life, Kent was known by his family, friends and countless fans across the world for his kindness. And though he had no children of his own, he mentored several people over his life, acting as a music teacher, a big brother, a cool uncle and stepfather to his partner's son. He was also an avid animal lover all his life and a "cat dad" to four beloved cats at the time of his passing.
Kent is survived by his parents, Gordon and Faith, his sisters, Kerri and Krista, his life partner, novelist Brooklyn Ann, his stepson, Micah, his father-in-law, Randy, stepmother-in-law Lynette, grandparents-in-law Ruth and John, brother-in-law Nick, nieces Tasha and Alexis and nephews Nicholas and Treven, cousins, uncles and aunts.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Vera and Orpha Butler, Helen and Burt Rice, his stepmother, Margaret, and his mother-in-law, Karen Ann.
His celebration of life will be April 11 at the Coeur d'Alene Adventist Church Fellowship Hall and there will be a livestream. You can RSVP here: www.everloved.com.
