Those special ladies who do so much for others will be celebrated in style when Mom Prom returns from 6 to 10 p.m. May 2 to the Coeur d'Alene Eagles Lodge in downtown Coeur d'Alene.
"I am so excited about year three," event organizer and A Parent's Paradise Charities founder Doree Handford said Monday.
Mom Prom gives every kind of mom a chance to shine during an evening of great company, food from local restaurants, a DJ and dancing, games, raffles and prizes.
"We do corsages, gift bags, T-shirts. We really try to spoil these moms and try to let businesses be a part of that too," Handford said. "We have them be a part of offering services these moms wouldn't normally get for themselves."
And Mom Prom isn't just for moms.
"It's for people who love moms," Handford said.
Mom Prom serves as an annual fundraiser for A Parent’s Paradise Charities, a North Idaho nonprofit that supports parents and families. The first year raised $10,000. The 2025 event brought in $17,000, "which is pretty incredible," Handford said.
In a social media post, A Parent's Paradise shared that one in five moms and one in 10 dads experience postpartum mood disorders, and many families feel overwhelmed and unsupported.
"Parenting is harder than ever," the post reads.
Every Mom Prom ticket purchased will help provide "real, tangible support to parents in North Idaho — because when parents thrive, families thrive and communities thrive."
Handford said more volunteers and sponsors are needed. Sponsors will be gathered until April 1.
Early bird tickets, which are limited, are available for $55 until April 1. Prices will increase by $5 after that date. Group pricing is also available.
A flash sale for $10 off ticket prices will be online this Saturday only, coupon code GREEN. Discounted tickets are limited.
