CHICAGO — Coeur d’Alene High junior Brookeslee Colvin was recently named 2025-26 Gatorade Idaho Girls Basketball Player of the Year.
The 5-foot-8 Colvin led the Vikings (22-4) to the 6A Inland Empire League championship and the semifinals of the state 6A tournament this past season.
Colvin averaged 30.5 points, 7.9 rebounds, 5.3 steals and 4.7 assists en route to becoming the career scoring leader at Coeur d’Alene with 1,521 points. She was also named the 6A IEL Player of the Year for a second time.
Colvin has volunteered locally with the Brighter Life Foundation and the Second Harvest Food Bank, which combat food insecurity. She has also donated her time to a variety of YMCA initiatives, including Healthy Kids Day, a national initiative to improve the health of kids and families.
“Brookeslee is something else,” former Lake City coach David Pratt said. “She can score at every level, plays hard defensively and gets her teammates involved. And she does it without breaking a sweat.”
Colvin has maintained a 4.0 GPA in the classroom. She will begin her senior year of high school this fall.
Colvin is the second Coeur d’Alene High player honored since the award began in 1986.
Shaylia Davis of Coeur d’Alene was honored in 2000.
Colvin is the first North Idaho winner since Melody Kempton of Post Falls in 2018.
