William Blessing, 82

William P. Blessing (Bill), born Oct. 2, 1943, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, has passed away in Boise, Idaho, on March 4, 2026. He was 82 years old and the son of W. Phillip Blessing and Norma Crowley Blessing, with two surviving siblings, Linda Koep (Court) and Robert Blessing (Lori dec.), all of Coeur d’Alene.
He graduated from IHM High School and earned two bachelor’s degrees, one from Idaho State University and the other from Eastern Washington University.
He and Dian Dawson Blessing have three children: Chad (Marta) Blessing of Boise, Idaho; Todd Blessing of Anchorage, Alaska; and Brooke A. Blessing of Boise. Bill had special love for his six grandchildren: Chad and Rondee’s children, Avery and Millie; Todd and Brooke Beardsley Blessing’s children, Aidan (Kylie) and Kaiya; and Brooke Blessing’s children, Air Force Captain and Pilot Andrew Castillo (Brianna) and Alyssa Helmandollar. A special delight is Mateo, the great-grandson and son of Captain Andrew and Brianna.
Bill served proudly in the U.S. Army in Vietnam from 1968-1972, attaining the rank of Captain. He earned a Bronze Star. Bill’s career spans many professional roles, including VP of Marketing at Bunker Hill Mining Company, stockbroker for Dean Witter, financial analyst for the State of Idaho, and the SEC in Seattle. He retired from the State of Idaho Department of Finance.
Bill loved telling his version of history, was an avid fisherman, and rejoiced with every Seattle Seahawks’ victory. All his friends and relatives smile when remembering him.
