Full caption: Sandpoint's Braden Buckhout recently committed to continue his football career at the College of Idaho (NAIA) in Caldwell. A 6-foot-3-inch, 190-pound quarterback, the standout senior helped the Bulldogs bounce back to an 8-3 record this past fall, throwing for 2,173 yards and 23 touchdowns on 58.6% (146-for-249) passing. In total, he compiled 2,602 yards and 26 total touchdowns, also adding 409 yards on the ground during the 2025 season. Across his career, Buckhout recorded 3,682 total yards — 3,182 of which were passing — and managed to find the endzone 37 times while allowing only 10 interceptions. "Braden had a fantastic year for us," Sandpoint High head football coach Ryan Knowles said of Buckhout, who was the 2025 5A Inland Empire League Co-Offensive MVP. "He did it all, from throwing to running, to just being a great teammate. He really stepped up as a senior, from a junior year that had a lot of question marks. Really happy for him to have a place at the next level. It's his opportunity to shine — he has a very high ceiling."
