Bigfork Senior Center hosts Spring Into Health and Safety Fair in April

Spray a fire extinguisher, use bear spray, get a chair massage and maybe even a blood pressure screening at the Spring Into Health and Safety Fair, hosted by the Bigfork Senior Center on April 2.  

The interactive fair will provide education about local services that promote health, well-being and environmental safety, according to a release from the Bigfork Senior Center. Co-hosted by the Montana Health and Safety Training, there will be local vendors and all-day classes and trainings.  

The event kicks-off with a free blood pressure and blood sugar screening from 8 to 9 a.m. Followed by a Free Hands Only CPR Training by Montana Health and Safety Training from 9 to 10 a.m. Space is limited so attendees must pre-register at montanahealthandsafety.com.

The fair portion of the event takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with 35 local vendors.

From 2:15 to 2:45, Swan Valley Connections and Swan Valley Resources present “How Bears Learn to Access Food from Homes.” 

There will be a mental health awareness presentation by the Nate Chute Foundation from 2:15 to 3:15 p.m. Attendees must pre-register at [email protected] or by calling 406-260-4716.  

The Tamarack Grief Resource Center’s “On Grief and Healing: Supporting Ourselves and Others” presentation takes place from 2:15 to 3:15 p.m.  

Attendees will have the opportunity to give the Senior Center a cash donation for beverages and a multitude of homemade soups for lunch. 

The fair takes place April 2 at the Bigfork Senior Center, located at 8560 Montana 35. Attendance is free.
