Schmidt, the junior pitcher from Coeur d'Alene High and North Idaho College, threw the program's 21st no-hitter since 2000, striking out eight and walking three in an 8-0 win last Friday for the NAIA Owls of Klamath Falls, Ore. In Saturday's game, Schmidt struck out eight and allowed two hits in four innings as the Owls, ranked fourth in the NAIA poll, beat Warner Pacific 9-0. Oregon Tech is 23-3, 8-1 in conference.

Faulkner, who played basketball at Lake City High and Montana, and in her second year as head coach of the Waves (19-12) opens play in the WNIT tonight against UC Davis at 6 p.m. (ESPN+) in Malibu, Calif. It is the program’s first postseason appearance in seven years and first time hosting a postseason game.

Shippy-Fletcher, the Lake City High star, will be inducted into the Oklahoma State Hall of Honor in the class of 2026, the school announced. A three-time All-American, Shippy broke school records for games played, games started, consecutive games started, on-base percentage, most career walks, doubles. In 2018, Shippy-Fletcher became just the fifth player in Big 12 history with career numbers with at least 225 hits, 150 walks, 150 runs scored and 125 RBIs.
Caelyn Orlandi

Orlandi, a Coeur d'Alene High product, led the Warriors (25-8) past Hope International (Calif.) 74-65 last Friday in the opening round of the NAIA Tournament, then beat Montana Tech 79-67 on Saturday to advance to the Round of 16 on Friday in Sioux City, Iowa, against No. 3 Bethel (Tenn.). The last matchup between the teams came in the 2017 NAIA Tournament, when Orlandi scored 29 points for the Warriors in a 69-58 win. This will be Orlandi's first appearance in the Round of 16 as head coach after four as a player and three as an assistant.

Sims, a 6-foot forward from Post Falls High, had 22 points, 10 rebounds and one assist for the Wildcats in a loss to Cal Poly Pomona in the Sweet 16 of the Division II women's basketball tournament on Tuesday in Ellensburg, Wash.
