Sandpoint Future 4th Grade Girls second at Washington Middle School State Championship

Full caption: The Sandpoint Future 4th Grade Girls travel basketball team finished second out of 21 teams in the School Silver bracket at the Washington Middle School State Championship held March 13 through 15 at The Podium and The Warehouse Athletic Facility in Spokane. The team beat Stanwood (Seattle) by a score of 34-32 in their opener and Newport (Bellevue) by a score of 23-12 in pool play. In bracket play, they defeated Gig Harbor 24-12 in the quarterfinals and Ellensburg 18-16 in the semfinals before falling to a strong Omak team by a score of 36-21 in the championship game. The girls finished out the year with a record of 26-7 and won five tournaments, including four in a row at one point.
