DS Connections NW is inviting the community to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day on Saturday.

The “Rock Your Socks” campaign involves wearing bright or mismatched socks and helps spark conversations about Down syndrome awareness and inclusion, a press release said.

Participating businesses include Club Pilates Hayden, Hands to Art, Marketplace at Miles, and Genesee School where DSCNW sock baskets will offer colorful socks for $6 per pair, with proceeds supporting DS Connections NW programs.

The organization is also partnering with coffee stands. Participating locations Jitterz, Gourmet Bean on Government Way and Outlaw Coffee in Hayden.

Families in the Down syndrome community will also gather at The Little Gym in Post Falls for open gym time, hot cocoa, dancing, and treats.

Founded in 2009, DS Connections NW works to build a supportive and inclusive community for individuals with Down syndrome and their families.
