A classical musical featuring a beloved nanny, the Homeschool Theatre Club is bringing “Mary Poppins” to the stage.

Shows are March 26 at 7 p.m., March 27 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. and March 28 at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. at the Whitefish Performing Arts Center.

The stage adaptation combines the elements from P.L. Travers’ books and the Disney film, featuring unforgettable songs and dazzling choreography.

Set in London, England, in 1910, Bert, a jack-of-all-trades, invites the audience into the Banks family’s dysfunctional home. Children Jane and Michael have just sent another nanny packing, and with a father who is working constantly and a mother who is always distracted, the children have suffered without a strong caretaker.

Then the magical Mary Poppins flies in on the wind, bringing her combination of whimsy, magic and disciplined common sense. Together, they go on memorable and magical adventures. Eventually, she transforms not only the lives of the children but also the adults, making them realize that “anything can happen if you let it.”

The Homeschool Theatre Club is an educational club that serves home-educated students in the Flathead Valley by providing instruction in the fine arts.

Admittance is by donation. Seats can be reserved at https://tinyurl.com/8hxm3bue
