Law roundup: Concerns balloon for 911 caller

Someone reportedly called 911 to air concerns about flags and balloons floating in the sky and was unsure if they were attached to anything. The caller was advised to call the non-emergency phone number to report anything that was not a life-threatening emergency.

A man allegedly suspected his neighbors of smearing dog feces all over his front door and called the Kalispell Police Department to report the ongoing harassment. An officer advised him to apply for a temporary restraining order.

A woman reportedly stood outside a neighbor’s apartment, yelling. The neighbor, who was in the middle of doing laundry, called the police, upset that she couldn’t go switch her clothes from the washer to the dryer.

Blankets were allegedly left by a resident’s fenceline and they called the police, unsure if someone was wrapped within them. Officers only found garbage.

Officers reportedly stopped a man riding a bicycle who was screaming at people and acting disorderly. The man was booked and released.

A maintenance man reportedly found drug paraphernalia and wanted officers to pick it up.

A woman had questions about retrieving her property with a temporary restraining order against her.

Two children were allegedly left alone in a vehicle. 

A woman called with questions about what she could legally carry to protect herself.

Someone called officers for advice on how to handle a child’s behavior who was reportedly “acting out” recently.

A woman reportedly moving out of a rental went to collect her belongings and it appeared that someone had rummaged through her stuff and taken money. She was allegedly told by her landlord that she had authorized access to a certain individual, which she denied. She was advised that the issue was a civil complaint.
