Master Sergeant Aubrey M. Smith, U.S. Air Force (Ret.)
Master Sergeant Aubrey M. Smith, of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, passed away peacefully at his home Oct. 24, 2025. He was laid to rest with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery on March 12, 2026. Born on Feb. 8, 1948, in Nevada, Mo., he was the son of the late Noel and Lettie Smith.
He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 21 years, including a tour in Vietnam with the Red Horse team.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Sue Fulton Smith; his children, Christie McGuigan, Amy Bozick, Aubrey Smith, and Denise Smith; his stepchildren, Rusty Fulton and Aletha Vengo; his grandchildren; his brother, Charlie Smith; and his sister, Sandra Belcher. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Noel Smith Jr.; granddaughter Sydney Whittington; and his son, Wayne Williams.
A true jack-of-all-trades, Aubrey loved tinkering with models, fixing anything, hunting, fishing, and sharing a good story. He will be deeply missed.
