SANDPOINT — Bonner County Justice Services made up most of the agenda items at the county’s Tuesday business meeting, for which they were approved to dissolve five categories of records and enter a professional services agreement for monitoring device.

Justice Services Director Ron Stultz introduced the six items, which were all unanimously approved by county commissioners.

The department was approved to destroy temporary “inactive files” for records from 2023 and older relating to the work in lieu of detention program, records from 2015 and older relating to incident reports, records from 2023 and older relating to shift summaries and reports, records from 2022 and older regarding school lunch program and records for juveniles with a date of birth of 2005 and older.

Each file section is dissolved based on Idaho Code retention policies, where some files are required to be retained for 10 years, and others may only be retained for two years.

Justice Services was also approved for a Secure Court Solutions professional services agreement for the management of secure continuous remote alcohol monitoring units and GPS monitoring devices.

In other business news, county commissioners approved a bid opening for a snow removal equipment storage building at the Priest River Airport. According to a memorandum submitted to the board, the department has already received bids for the project, where its request is to open the bids to allow them to be read and turned over to an engineering consultant for review and recommendation.

The project will be 95% funded from a Federal Aviation Administration grant, with the remaining 5% being split between state funds and a county match.

The Noxious Weeds department was also approved for a facility use agreement with the University of Idaho for the use of the Sandpoint Organic Agriculture Center for an annual recertification seminar.

County commissioners unanimously moved to postpone approval of items related to Priest Lake EMT and Risk Management, where commissioners sought additional information on agreements brought forth by the two entities.
