BONNERS FERRY GUN CLUB: Club posts strong results at Camas Prairie championship

Walla Walla, Washington, was the location for the 72nd annual Camas Prairie Trapshooting Association Handicap at the end of the ten-week trapshooting competition.  

Several members of Bonners Ferry Gun Club, including six of the Duke’s Claybusters, Bonners Ferry’s youth team, traveled to Walla Walla to participate in nine different events, earning up to 900 registered targets for the 2026 season.  

Thursday afternoon began with event one: a 100-bird Camas Prairie Memorial Handicap dedicated to the trapshooters that have been lost over the years, including Bonners Ferry Gun Club’s own Lonny Jelinek, who was instrumental in keeping the Camas alive. Joe Campbell scored 91/100, Gage Kunsky 88, Kristie Campbell 84, Judah Roffler 52, and Ron Campbell 90.  

On Friday morning, Bonners Ferry had 11 participants in event two, the Preliminary Singles. Joe Campbell got 93, Gage Kunsky 90, Trenton Myers 93, Judah Roffler 80, Ron Campbell 91, Zander Moseley 74, Kristie Campbell 90, Randi Hibbard 76, Mason Kunsky 59, Amanda Myers 88 and Dustin Myers 91. 

 Event three, on Friday afternoon, was the Lonny Jelinek handicap. Trenton Myers took the junior category, bringing home the grand prize with a 95/100. The rest of the scores for Bonners Ferry were Joe Campbell with 85, Gage Kunsky with 76, Judah Roffler with 74, Ron Campbell with 85, Kristie Campbell with 85, Randi Hibbard with 77, Amanda Myers with 84 and Dustin Myers with 86. 

Also on Friday afternoon, Kristie Campbell and Randi Hibbard participated in event four, the Preliminary Doubles, in which two birds are thrown at the same time, and the participant must break both. Kristie got 44 and Randi got 58.

On Saturday morning, Kristie and Randi participated in event five, the Doubles Championship. Shortly after the event began, the shoot was halted for a parade of First Responders responding to the field for a misfire, which stopped the entire event. After a 45-minute delay, the first responders cleared, the rain stopped and the participants were able to proceed with the event. Kristie got a 62, and Randi shot 56. 

In event six, the Singles Championship, Joe Campbell shot a 95, Gage Kunsky 91, Trenton Myers got 86, Judah Roffler 57, Ron Campbell 93, Zander Moseley 79, Kristie Campbell 80, Randi Hibbard 68, Mason Kunsky 57, Amanda Myers 79 and Dustin Myers 90. 

In event seven, the President’s Handicap, Ron Campbell won the Veteran category and Joe Campbell won the junior category. Total scores in the President’s Handicap were: Joe Campbell 93, Gage Kunsky 84, Trenton Myers 81, Judah Roffler 86, Ron Campbell 94, Kristie Campbell 86, Randi Hibbard 59 and Amanda Myers and Dustin Myers with 79. 

Ron and Joe also received awards on Saturday for the All-Star team for shooting the most 25s during the 10-week leagues. 

Event eight opened Sunday morning and included the Second Half of the 100-bird CPH Singles Championship. Joe Campbell scored 96, Gage Kunsky 89, Trenton 89, Judah Roffler 80, Ron Campbell 94, Zander Moseley 79, Kristie Campbell 90, Randi Hibbard 64, Mason Kunsky 78, Amanda Myers 86 and Dustin Myers 92.  

Lastly, in event nine, the 100-bird Handicap Championship, Ron Campbell won Runner-Up in the veteran category and Trenton Myers won Runner-Up in the junior category. Scores were: Joe Campbell 92, Gage Kunsky 82, Trenton Myers 94, Judah Roffler 79, Ron Campbell 92, Kristie Campbell 86, Randi Hibbard 64, Amanda Myers 74 and Dustin Myers 78. 

Ron Campbell, Joe Campbell, Dustin Myers and Trenton Myers all shot multiple 25/25s throughout the weekend. 

Throughout the weekend, Zander Moseley and Mason Kunsky earned 300 registered targets each for 2026. Ron Campbell, Dustin Myers, Amanda Myers, Joe Campbell, Trenton Myers, Judah Roffler, and Gage Kunsky each earned 700 and Kristie Campbell and Randi Hibbard earned 900 registered targets.
