Carole Rennie, 74
Daily Inter-Lake | UPDATED 7 hours, 29 minutes AGO
I think we all hope to pass away doing something we love. Carole passed away while boogie boarding in the warm ocean waters of Costa Rica. She was a lifelong lover of the ocean and couldn’t wait to be playing in the waves once again. She had just finished a wonderful nature-oriented adventure with two friends and had been ecstatic about the whole experience.
Carole was born in Eugene, Oregon, Aug. 19, 1951. In sixth grade the family moved to California, but eventually the mountains and rivers of Montana drew her away from the beach. In the summer of 1972, she began an epic adventure with her brother, and they ended up living on the east shore of Flathead Lake. No fish was safe, no perfect cherry uneaten.
In 1978 she married Keith Rennie and settled in Polson where she was a legal secretary for many years. There she raised two boys, Brandon and Craig, and was passionate about soccer and tennis. She eventually shortened her tennis stoke when the pickleball craze hit and was instrumental in bringing numerous pickle ball maniacs into the sport. She will be heavily missed by this tight knit group, where her generosity of spirit and infectious smile was deeply appreciated. She will not be missed by the large trout trying to hide from her in the rivers.
She is survived by one brother, Marty Zajanc, two children, Brandon and Craig Rennie, and two grandchildren, Torrin and Solea.
The mountains and rivers will miss her footsteps, the people her smile.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. on April 18 at The Pearl Theater in Ronan.
