Clarifications

Lake County Leader | UPDATED 3 days, 13 hours AGO

Special elections

The story titled “Ballots for special purpose and school trustees go out next month” that appeared on A2 of last week’s Leader indicated that ballots will include election for irrigation boards. Lake County Election Administrator Toni Kramer clarified that since there’s no competition for those seats, those who filed will be seated “by acclamation” of the board, and no ballots will be sent. The only ballots that voters will receive are for contested races in their school, fire or water districts.

Grizzly Disposal

Billy Fisher, the general manager of Grizzly Disposal and Recycling has requested a clarification of the story titled "New garbage hauler comes to county" that appeared on A1 of the March 19 Leader.

His quote, “Missoula pays the bill, Polson is a dream,” should read "Missoula pays the bills, Polson is a dream ..."

Fisher also notes that Grizzly has spent years building Missoula into a sustainable operation, and this quote was not intended to imply that Missoula is paying for Lake County’s services.
