In the opening track and field meet of the season for Bonners Ferry High School, Riley Beggerly, Hallie Hartman and Hana Hartman each finished in first place at the Lakeland/Timberlake/CDA Tri at Lakeland High School on March 19.  

Beggerly finished first in the high jump with a five-foot eight-inch jump to beat out two opponents from Coeur d’Alene High School. He also placed second in the long jump.  

Hallie Hartman won the shotput, throwing 40 feet, seven inches to beat her twin sister by over two inches. However, it was Hana who placed first in discus with a 126-foot, four inch toss, beating Hallie by nearly ten feet. 

Kylie Calderone was second in the 3200, with Emile Bourassa finishing one place behind her in third. Olivia Lammers finished fourth in the girls 400.   

Devin Sceppe finished second place in the boys 110-meter hurdles. Grady Atkins and James Morgen placed second and third, respectively, in the discus event.  

Two days later, three Bonners Ferry athletes in Morgen and the Hartman twins participated in the Lewiston Invitational on March 21.  

Hallie finished first in the Shotput for the second straight meet, with Hana finishing fourth. They switched in the discus, with Hana third and Hallie sixth.  

Morgen finished sixth place out of 60 shot-putters, with a throw of over 45 feet.
