Weight limits in effect across Bonner County

SANDPOINT — Weight limits are in force on most of the county's roads as rainy conditions have returned to the region, Bonner County Road & Bridge officials said.
Under weight limit restrictions, no early morning hauling is allowed on any Bonner County-maintained road posted with such restrictions. A green flag indicates weight restrictions are imminent; a red flag or no flag indicates weight restrictions are in effect.
• District 1 (south of the Long Bridge) — In District 1, weight restrictions are being enforced on Als Welding Road, Trails End Road, Hoo Doo Mountain Road, Curtis Cr Road, Whittum Road, Sunset Road, Road 22, Blacktail Road, Little Blacktail Road, Butler Creek Spur, Eichs Road, Hillside Drive, Willford Road, Southside School Road, Talache Road south of East Dufort Road, South Sagle Road south of East Dufort Road, Norman Way, Walker Way, Roy Way, Whitetail Trail, Glengary Bay Road, Martin Bay, Eureka Road, south end of Merril Martin Road, Birch Haven Road, Sweeney Drive, Hanford Drive, Bella Circle, Comeback Bay Lane, East Comeback Bay Lane, Bottle Bay Road east Lignite Road, Barnhardt Road, Garrett Road, Swan Shores Drive, Wooded Acres Drive and Westwood Heights Drive.
County officials are reminding the public that a red flag or no flag indicates that weight limits are in effect.
• District 2 (Priest River/Priest Lake) — Weight limit restrictions have been lifted on Cavanaugh Bay Road, East Shore Road up to the Indian Creek Park Road intersection, Outlet Bay Road, Carr Creek Road, Berry Lane, Smith Creek Road, Wrenco Loop, Wrenco Hills Road, North Riley Creek Road, Santa Maria Road, Campbell Point Road, Moore Loop, Laclede Ferry Road, Thama Drive, East Settlement Road, Anselmo Lane, Eastside Road, Riverside Road, Freeman Lake Road, Langille Canyon Road, Peninsula Road, Barrett Road, Stone Johnny Road, Peterson Road, Bear Paw Road, Johnsons Cutoff, Quartz Creek Road, Ivan White Road, Gleason-Mcabee Falls Road, Squaw Valley Cutoff, Squaw Valley Road, Dickensheet Road, Substation Cutoff, Eastriver Road, Icehouse Road, Bayview Road, Bodie Canyon Road, Shannon Lane, Dufort Road, Old Priest River Road, Cedar Lane, roads in the Oldtown Area, Silver Birch Lane, Hoo Doo Loop, Hoop Loop, Rena Road, Womack Road, Nagel Road, Blackthorn Road and Jachetta Road.
• District 3 (Sandpoint/Clark Fork) — All weight restrictions have been lifted except for West Spring Creek Road, Trestle Creek Road, Baldy Mountain Road from the Janish Drive intersection and up, Upper Pack River Road, Upper Gold Creek Road from the intersection of Gold Creek Road to Rapid Lightning Road, Rapid Lightning Road from Upper Golden Creek intersection north, Elmira Road and West Elmira Road.
Per county ordinance, it is the responsibility of the hauler to contact the Bonner County Road & Bridge Department to determine whether or not these restrictions are in place. The restrictions will remain in effect until changed, at which time updates will be posted.
