Full caption: Bonners Ferry's Jack Woods recently committed to continue his baseball career at Central Christian College (NAIA) in McPherson, Kan. A 6-foot-1-inch left-handed pitcher and first baseman, the standout senior struck out 24 batters across 18.2 innings during his junior season. As a sophomore, he struck out 27 batters across 32 innings of work on the mound. At the plate, he put together a .321/.426./357 slash line a year ago to go along with 18 hits, including two doubles, 13 runs scored, eight RBIs and five stolen bases. "We were interested in Jack because we believe that he matches what we are looking for as a competitor on and off the field," Central Christian College graduate assistant coach Nate Diaz said of Woods. "We have no doubt that he’s the type of person to give his best in every aspect of life, which is what we are looking for at Central Christian College to help shift the culture of our baseball program and the campus itself. We are excited for what the future holds for him as he becomes a Tiger." Woods, in addition to his play for the Badgers, also competed for two years for the Rawlings Tigers baseball organization in both Tulsa, Okla. and Spokane, Wash. "He worked hard, paid attention to the little things and treated his teammates the right way," Rawlings Tigers coaches Jim Stevenson and Colton Aragon said. "We loved having him with us during the summer 2025 tournament season and he left a mark on this program that will stick. Jack, stay true to who you are, keep working hard, keep smiling, and keep pushing forward. The Tigers family will always be rooting for you as you step into your next academic and athletic chapter."
