Bonners Ferry 15, Riverside 7

Stryder Liermann, Colton Baisden and a high-powered Badgers offense comfortably beat the Riverside Rams in a high scoring affair to shake off a three-game losing streak and move to 3-3 on the season.

Liermann led off for the Badgers and had a great game offensively, going 2 for 5 with three runs and two RBIs. Baisden went 2 for 2 with two RBI’s.

Jake Solt, Keenan Maas, Jack Woods and Kordale Burt each doubled for Bonners Ferry, who scored at least two runs in five out of the seven innings in the game.

The Badgers came out of the gates fast, taking a 4-0 lead after the top of the third inning before Riverside responded with two runs of their own against starter Ty Schrock.

A four-run fourth inning for Bonners Ferry, courtesy of a Keenan Maas double and several Riverside errors gave the Badgers an 8-3 lead after four innings.

Bonners Ferry scored seven runs on four hits in the fifth and sixth innings to take an insurmountable 15-4 lead. Three runs from the Rams in the bottom of the sixth were not enough as they fell to a seven-run loss. Liermann closed out the game with 1 1/3 innings of scoreless baseball to cap an all-around performance.

It was a poor defensive performance from Riverside, who had a total of 12 errors, gifting the Badgers several opportunities throughout the game.

The pitching was frugal but erratic for Bonners Ferry, allowing just one hit while giving up 12 walks.
