Belgrade starts strong, downs Bravettes

Bailee White went 2-for-2 with two RBIs as Belgrade scored seven runs in the first three innings to down Flathead 9-1 in high school softball Saturday at ABS Park.


Trinity Marble and Paige Fulton added two RBIs each for the Panthers. 


June Stickney picked up a pair of hits and the lone RBI for the Bravettes, who laced seven hits in the game. 


Macey McIlhargey threw 3 2-3 innings, striking out four. Stickney tossed 3 1-3 in relief, allowing two runs on two hits and fanning four. 


Mallory Zimmer threw four innings in the circle for Belgrade (2-1), striking out four and giving up a pair of hits.

Hamilton 5, Polson 2


POLSON — Brooke Savage hit a two-run go-ahead single in the fifth inning as Hamilton picked up a road win over Polson in Class A softball. 


Savage’s single turned a 2-1 deficit into a 3-2 Bronc lead. Hadley Lockhart extended the advantage to 4-2 with another RBI single in the inning. 


Hayleigh Savage clinched the win for Hamilton (3-0) with a solo shot in the seventh inning for a 5-2 advantage. 


Polson (1-2) took advantage of a Logan McCrea RBI fielder’s choice and a passed ball to take a 2-1 lead in the fourth inning. 


McCrea pitched 2 2-3 innings in relief for the Pirates, while Maddie Turner threw 4 1-3. Both pitchers allowed four hits and fanned three batters. 


Polson 12, Corvallis 3


McCrea had a pair of hits and two RBIs as the Lady Pirates righted the ship against Corvallis later Saturday. 


Aleysia Black, Natalie Nash and Ahri Rushing drove in two runs each as Polson scored in every inning. Peyton Wirz had three hits. 


Turner went the distance in the circle, allowing three hits and striking out five. 


Brenna Bear and Kinley Sorensen drove in runs for the Blue Devils (1-2). 


Libby 7, Frenchtown 5


FRENCHTOWN — Tessa Purdy drove in three runs and Libby knocked off defending Class A champion Frenchtown in Class A softball. 


Purdy hit the go-ahead three-run triple in the top of the seventh to put the Lady Loggers (1-0) ahead 6-5. Dakota Allen hit a sacrifice fly to score Purdy and add some insurance for Libby. 


Carmen Kohler wrapped things up with a 1-2-3 seventh inning in the circle. 


Kohler allowed one hit in two innings of relief work. Weslee MacDonald started and went five innings. She allowed four runs on seven hits, fanning five. 


Jezzy Palmer went 3-for-4 for the Broncs (0-1), driving in one run. Brooklyn Smith was 2-for-3 with two RBIs on the day. 


Eureka 15, Deer Lodge 3

EUREKA — Marley Neesvig had eight RBIs over a pair of Eureka wins Saturday over Deer Lodge. 


Leah Tkachyk added a pair of RBIs in the opening victory as the Lady Lions (4-0) put up crooked numbers in each of the four innings they took the plate. 


Neesvig tripled and drove in three of her five game one runs in the bottom of the fourth to make it 15-1 Eureka. 


Autumn Thomas tossed four innings in the circle and allowed one run on a trio of hits. She struck out six batters. 


In the second game, Neesvig hit a three-run inside-the-park home run as Eureka put up an eight spot in the third inning to take control. 


Aubrey Mee threw three innings in game two, allowing one run on two hits. She fanned three. 


Troy 4-0 on weekend


TROY — The Lady Trojans brought out the bats, not to mention plenty of pitching, while sweeping Deer Lodge Friday and Anaconda on Saturday. 


Claira Folkerts and Halle Wallace threw three and four innings as Troy beat Deer Lodge 17-2 and 21-0 on Friday; Folkerts allowed one hit and two walks with four strikeouts and Wallace allowed two hits and four walks, fanning nine. 


Folkers got just three innings again Saturday as the Lady Trojans beat Anaconda 16-1. She allowed one hit and two walks with six strikeouts. However Anaconda touched three Troy pitchers for eight hits and six walks in a 24-13 loss in Saturday’s second game. 


In that win Hailey Dungan had three doubles, a triple and drove in five runs. For the weekend she was 11 of 16 at the plate with seven extra-base hits and 11 RBIs.  


Ellah Wallace was big at the plate as well, going 7-for-11 with two doubles, a triple and inside-the-park home run.  


Kirsti Jellesed drove in four runs in the 17-2 win over Deer Lodge; Ellie Borgmann had a 3-hit game with a double, triple and four runs scored in the 21-0 win over the Wardens.
