Rita Y. Walker, 75, passed away peacefully March 25, 2026, at the Hospice House in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. She was born July 13, 1950, in Coeur d'Alene, where she spent much of her life serving the community she loved.

Rita dedicated 31 years of her life as a Registered Nurse, caring for others with compassion, strength, and unwavering commitment. Her work was more than a profession — it was a reflection of her generous spirit and deep desire to help those in need.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Rita is survived by her daughters, Tereasa R. Walker and Alexis R. Walker; her grandson, D. Mason Walker; and her great-grandchildren, Matthias, EmberJo, and Isaiah Walker. She is also survived by her sisters, Judy Draggoo and Rhonda McQuarrie. She was preceded in death by her sister, Jean Walker, and her parents, Judy and Reid Walker.

Rita found great joy in music. She loved singing and performing, as well as attending live performances whenever she could. Some of her happiest moments were spent with family — teaching her grandchildren to cook, sharing laughter on camping trips, and creating memories that will be cherished forever. She also had a special love for butterflies and took pride in her beautiful collection.

A woman of deep and abiding faith, Rita prayed faithfully for her family, friends, and community. Her kindness, strength, and devotion touched many lives, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A celebration of life will be held for the family of Rita at "The Cabin" once the weather is warmer to accommodate travel.

The family kindly requests that, in lieu of cards or flowers, donations be made to the Hospice House of Coeur d'Alene in honor of Rita.

"Well done, good and faithful servant ... Enter into the joy of your Lord." — Matthew 25:23
