Ronald “Ray” Hart, 83, passed away Feb. 26, 2026, in Seattle due to complications from Lewy Body Dementia. Born on Oct. 7, 1942, Ray was predeceased by his parents, Henry Hart (Frickartz) and Bunnie (McKinney) Hart of Coeur d'Alene, his brother, Michael, and sisters Patty and Donna.
He is survived by Carla, his wife of 58 years; daughter Ranette (Jay) of Seattle; sons Carl (Katie) of Seattle, and Matthew of Kihei, Hawaii; and his grandchildren, Ivo, Mary Kate, Luce and Louis. Ray also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, caregivers and friends.
Ray attended Coeur d'Alene High School (Class of 1960). He graduated from the University of Idaho in 1964. He began his teaching career in northern Idaho's Silver Valley before moving to the Seattle area, where he met Carla. They raised their family in Seattle. In 1992, the family moved to Maui.
