Blood donor could win $10K

COEUR d’ALENE — Vitalant is offering April blood donors a chance to win a $10,000 prepaid gift card.

Donors of all types are needed. The need is greatest for type O, the most transfused and most compatible when there’s no time to test a patient’s blood type.

Vitalant provides over 25 hospitals in the Inland Northwest with nearly 200 lifesaving units of blood every day, a press release said. 

Several community blood drives are coming up, including:

Saturday, April 11 – Rathdrum, Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 10:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Wednesday, April 15 – Post Falls, Buck Knives, 1:15 p.m. 4:15 p.m.

Wednesday, April 22 – Coeur d’Alene, J-U-B Engineers, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Tuesday, April 28 – Hayden, Hayden Lake Stake, 3:30 p.m.– 6:30 p.m.

Donors can also give at one of five donation centers in the region, including in Coeur d’Alene, 405 W. Neider Avenue.
