Growing up, Caroline Wedel was constantly at her mom’s hip, helping her with school events, summer parties and holiday events.
“I loved seeing how thoughtful details, a beautifully set table and intentional planning could shape the way people felt,” she said.
That early exposure sparked Wedel’s love for hospitality and creating environments where people feel welcomed and celebrated. She brings that passion to her role as the Executive Meetings and Business Travel Manager for The Coeur d’Alene Resort.
After graduating from college in 2019, Wedel joined All Set Events, a boutique luxury event planning firm in the Bay Area, where she developed a refined eye for detail, gained hands-on experience with high-touch event execution and deepened her passion for curating elevated, seamless events.
In 2022, she moved to Idaho with her fiancé, who comes from the area.
“I knew I wanted to stay in the hospitality industry but was also eager to become more well-rounded,” she said.
Wedel transitioned from the event planning side into a sales role at the Resort, shifting from the planner’s lens to the contracting side of hospitality.
“I’ve been able to combine my event background with strategic relationship-building and business growth, while still focusing on what I love most — curating thoughtful and memorable experiences,” she said.
Wedel said she’s had the gift of being influenced and taught by incredible women throughout her life, beginning with her first inspiration, her mom.
“I’m equally grateful to my coworkers, who come from a range of tenured backgrounds and have also taken the time to share their knowledge, perspectives, and guidance, helping me continue to grow and become more well-rounded in my role,” she said.
Wedel said she plans to continue her pursuit of becoming as well-rounded as possible. She wants to take on new challenges in the coming years and create meaningful experiences and relationships along the way.
