40 Under 40: Chad Young

The value of a good mentor is unlimited.
“Find a mentor, do anything you can to work for them and have them teach you how to do what they do,” Chad Young, owner of The Easy Home Buyer, said of the advice he would give his younger self.
Young got his start in real estate after founding — and later selling — a janitorial company in the Coeur d’Alene area. He was 22 when he launched the company and sold it in 2020 after flipping his first house.
“I just listened to a ton of podcasts and read books and did what they said. Six hundred fifty houses later, it’s still growing,” he said.
While his formal education did “little to nothing” to shape the work he does today, Young said it was his time in the Army that taught him invaluable discipline and leadership skills.
“My time learning through podcasts and books literally paved the way for my current business,” he said. “I just learned from professionals who had already done it and did what they said to do.”
His different experiences have taught him different things, Young said.
“Owning a janitorial company taught me about business,” he said. “Serving in the Army taught me you can do things far harder than you ever thought possible and that a team is everything. Being a Christian taught me you are always here to serve people and that there is always a higher purpose for your life.”
Young plans to continue his career in real estate.
“But much larger projects and a much larger portfolio, if it’s God’s will,” he said. “I love real estate and never want to leave this field.”
Young said he sees The Easy Home Buyer pursuing more land development and new construction, as well as moving into larger asset classes like self-storage and apartments, among others.
