40 UNDER 40: Nick Ebner

Nick Ebner is a principal engineer with ACE Solutions with about 13 years of experience in the engineering field. 

Ebner earned a degree in civil engineering from Gonzaga University, which he said was essential to his career. 

“Receiving a college education allowed me to experience all the various aspects of Civil Engineering and to determine which fields I would perform best in,” he said.

Ebner’s earliest entry in the field involved using AutoCAD to draw fabricated railings and stair stringers for installation at numerous apartment buildings around the Inland Northwest. It was a good way to use his skills after taking some time off from the field after college.

“I learned how to tailor designs into things that can actually be constructed, rather than the theoretical world that college can sometimes live in,” he said. “I also learned to find information for myself rather than needing assistance from others.” 

Ebner said he aims to continue to lead others in the civil engineering field in the coming years. 

“I can see myself growing to serve more people by becoming a better leader and manager while sharing my technical skills,” he said.
