Roxann Sue (Baldwin) Eversole, lovingly known to many as Roxy or “Big Red,” passed away peacefully March 26, 2026, at the age of 63 in Smelterville, Idaho, with the love of her life, Sam, by her side after a long and courageously fought battle with cancer.

Born on July 10, 1962, in Wallace, Roxann was a true Pinecricker at heart, raised in Pine Creek, where she developed the strength, grit and fearless personality that would define her throughout life. She attended St. Maries School and carried her hardworking spirit into careers that included bartending, working at Scheffelmaier’s, and the refinery.

Roxann’s greatest accomplishment was the family she built and loved fiercely. She is survived by her children: Jay (Shanin) Eversole, Brenda (Issac) Cotsford, Tasheena (Ivan) Tellez, and Darcy Eversole. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Melinda Eversole and Heather Lisk, whose memories remained forever close to her heart.

She also leaves behind 18 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, her devoted husband, Sam Eversole, her mother, Phyllis Barker, stepfather Bob Barker, stepmother Terrann Tester, and siblings Stacy Baldwin, Callee Jaejar, Chandra Barker, Candace Hendzel, Joni Johnston, Dale Barker, Teri Miner, Casey McInelly and Brandy Baldwin, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Stanley Baldwin, Dawn Kitchen, her cousin, as well as her daughters, Melinda and Heather, and her aunts, Joanne Avery and Donna Kitchen.

Anyone who knew Roxann knew she loved the outdoors and felt most at home in the Idaho mountains — hunting, fishing, huckleberry picking, camping and taking the occasional side-by-side ride. In later years, she especially loved spending time near the Clark Fork River, where the peace of the water matched the depth of her love for family.

Roxann was courageous, deeply loyal and never afraid to say exactly what was on her mind. If she loved you, you knew it. If you needed help, she was there. And if you needed putting in your place, she handled that too — without hesitation and often with humor that left her getting the last laugh. She loved hard, protected fiercely and had a way of making her presence known in every room she entered.

She created traditions her family will forever treasure, especially her unforgettable Christmas in July, because for Roxann, one holiday season a year simply wasn’t enough.

She also took great pride in one family joke she never let die — that she had a better shot than her husband — and anyone who knew her knows she would insist that be included here so she could still have the last laugh.

At this time, no formal services are planned. A celebration of life will be held later for family and close friends, where stories, laughter and a few strong opinions in her honor will no doubt be shared — exactly how she would have wanted it.

The family would like to extend its heartfelt gratitude and thanks to Hospice of North Idaho and specifically to her nurse Eli. In lieu of any donations or flowers, please consider donating to Hospice of North Idaho.
