Valley Neighbors invites the community to sit down for a global culinary experience at its upcoming “Immigrant Flavors of the Flathead” community meal event on Friday, April 24.
The event will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Kalispell from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. The evening promises a rich blend of food, storytelling and cultural exchange.
Guests will enjoy a thoughtfully prepared menu crafted by a local Syrian chef. Featured dishes include Ouzi—a fragrant spiced rice dish with peas, slivered almonds and chicken thighs—alongside Khyar Bi Laban, a cucumber yogurt salad, and a Syrian-style chopped salad. Menu subject to change.
Beyond the meal, attendees will hear personal stories from immigrant neighbors in the Flathead Valley, offering a meaningful opportunity to build understanding, foster compassion, and strengthen community ties.
“Sharing a meal and hearing one another’s stories helps break down barriers,” said Rebecca Miller, chair of Valley Neighbors. “This event will remind us that we’re all part of the same community.”
Tickets are available through Tuesday, April 21. Tickets are $25 each, with an option for an additional donation at donorbox.org/events/917333/steps/choose_tickets
