The Libby Loggers wasted no time asserting themselves Saturday in its first varsity baseball game, erupting for 17 runs in a 17-0 victory over Browning in a shortened nonconference contest.

Libby’s offense came out hot early, plating 10 runs in the first inning to put the game out of reach. The Loggers added seven more in the second, finishing with 17 runs on 11 hits while taking advantage of six walks.

Bransen Holzer led the offensive surge, going 3-for-3 with three RBIs and three runs scored. Elijah Foulke added a 2-for-3 performance with two RBIs, while Ian Thom also collected two hits and drove in a pair.

Hunter Rooney contributed in the middle of the lineup, finishing with a hit and three RBIs.

The Loggers showed extra-base power throughout the game, piling up multiple doubles and triples, including three doubles from Holzer and two from Foulke. Thom and Kale Riddle also added extra-base hits as Libby consistently put pressure on Browning’s defense.

On the mound, James Woody delivered a dominant performance. The right-hander tossed three innings, allowing no hits or runs while striking out seven to earn the win.

Browning was limited to just two walks and did not record a hit against Libby pitching.
